Starting with the 2005 models, Dahon has used a new proprietary stem mounting design. This folding stem will NOT work with any pre-2005 bike. Aside from using a 1 1/8" sterrer tube, the fork is threaded on the INSIDE of the steerer tube. A threaded cap secures the folding stem to the steerer tube. The stem also folds to the LEFT of the bike as used in the Dahon P8 models. Other Dahon models with a fixed height stem like in the Speed Pro has a stem that folds to the RIGHT of the bike. Using the above folding stem on a bike with a fixed position stem will result in a folding size bigger than usual. Now also available, the SL bike folding stem. This stem folds to the right of the bike. At the end of the stem is a short T section where the Syntace VRO system stem clamps to. |
 DAHONSTAJ118..............NO LONGER AVAILABLE (for the 1 1/8" steer tube) This is a more modern design with the bigger quill diameter for forks with 1 1 /8" steerer tube. Same folding stem as used in the pre 2005 Dahon Helios and Speed. |
