Gaerlan gotravel for travel

Using the lessons learned from years of bike travel, we have come up with our latest travel bike named the "gotravel". Designed to look as a conventional bike, the bike is built using the "time tested" double triangle design. When we were going thru its design stages, we always came back to the principle of "simple is better". Instead of using internal geared hubs most common with small wheeled travel bikes, we decided to use a front derailleur for its simplicity and its of use. Although it takes longer to build the frame since the derailleur position is critical, it however makes the bike really simple to fix and service. Using a regular hub with quick release, dropping the wheel for packing or flat repair is a matter of just releasing the wheel quick release (unlike geared hubs where you need a wrench). With such conventional design, you can use "off the shelf" bike components, racks and bags. No need to buy expensive custom parts.
